When I got this links from Maritess about our Tito Omy & Mike, I bacame excited coz finally we will have our very first posting in this website; but when I started to work on my iMac I can't put it up together. I took the weekend thinking about it coz I really wanted to put up an article that will be interesting to different generations of our clan and hopefully encourage them to get involved on this website.
While looking at the pictures, the trash bin of my memory popped up and recalled something(it's good that I haven't emptied the bin). I recalled that when I was in grade school, my father, Berting, regularly accompanied me to a barber shop on Del Pilar St., going to Cabuyao Central, to the father & son tandem of mang Isko & mang Totoy "PATIS" (if you guys still remember them). The younger "patis" used to teased me Apo ni Poya & "TOKWA", I got curious about it and asked my lolo Dulo why they are calling me that way. My lolo Dulo explained to me (while i'm eating rimas given by lola Scion) that our lola Juana is used to be called Poya & our great ancestor used to sell "Taho" and "Tokwa" in the town. So on my succeeding visit to the "patis" barbershop and called me "tokwa" I somewhat became ashamed coz I thought at that time that it is a lowly profession. When I myself went to work, I realized that one good thing I got from our ancestor is the value for work, this values have been passed to us from generation to generation. I thinks this values that we got from our ancestor should make us proud to be in this clan. A classic axample of the values thats on our blood is this 2 generation from our lolo Thomas "Umat", while son Romeo (Romy) is making his name at Las Vegas, grandson Thomas Michael (Mike) is starting to make his name in his school, he was recently included in the Silvestri Shark Basketball Team. It shows that hardwork really pays off. Congratulations Guys and Keep our Clan Proud! Pls. bare with me on my grammar, I used to work with numbers not with letters. |
